SNOW!!!

So finally we received the first snow of winter. Apparently it is 3 weeks late but better late than never eh? With the snow the temperatures have actually risen several degrees and they are sitting happily in the twenties. It's funny to watch all the people who have put off mounting their snow tires and are spinning out because they still drive like it is summer time. Our outhouse had amassed several inches on the toilet seat and Manda came back unhappy and with a wet bottom. We turned off the heater last night and tried to keep a fire running but it just wasn't easy to walk up and down the ladder in the middle of the night. Hopefully I was added on to Bryson and Max's Broomball team and we have a game tonight. If you don't know what Broomball is it is a cross between soccer and hockey, played on ice in tennis shoes. It is uber fun and is a great way to release some tension after schooling.

La Primera Post

The first one. What will people think? Am I really doing this? All solid questions running through my mind. Well i really don't care what others might think I needed a place to record and announce events, pieces of writing, random rambling like this, cool ideas, maybe even a toaster/microwave recipe if the mood catches. To stay with the title of the blog, I just spent the past two days poking around in the Mount Prindle area with my Wilderness Leadership class. It wasn't the prettiest trip I've been on, but it was good to leave the world for a while and cook pancakes for 12. The group was pretty solid, with a few exceptions. we covered 11 miles in 8 hours of hiking, spent probably 4 hours sitting on our asses at breaks. Oh well, not the way I'd run my trips. Temps were low enough to freeze the top of the pancake mix after I mixed it. Looking forward to real food tonight and to sleep on my semi-soft mattress.
